Preserving Our Legacy.

Empowering Future Generations.

For more than 42 years, Booker T. Washington High School served as Rocky Mount’s only African American high school, leaving a lasting legacy of educational excellence, cultural pride, and community leadership throughout Eastern North Carolina.

Today, the Booker T. Washington High School Alumni Association carries that legacy forward by preserving the school’s history while supporting education, scholarships, and community engagement for future generations.

Though the school closed in 1969, its story did not end. The legacy of Booker T. Washington lives on through its alumni, its impact on the community, and a continued commitment to ensuring future generations know and honor its history.
